This was a doodle I did at work, just layering in character on top of character, something I liked to do on blackboards in study hall in high school. I scanned it in and digitally colored it in. Even though I didn't go into animation (for which I'm grateful knowing how hard it is), I still feel all the Disney movies inspired me.

working with halftones
So, the thing I'm working on and looking up tutorials on is halftones. That's how you can get a gray shade of a color without having to pick another color. It's just dots going in a gradient. This is important in printing cause the less colors the less money involved. Also with the Woot site I'm entering contests for you only have 6 colors to work with. This hawk practice piece only has 4 colors. and if you looked closely enough most of the color is in dots. The drawing itself was hand drawn and scanned in the computer. I'm liking the look of computer and hand drawn coming together.
